![]() Company History
In 1994, we used our experience in mobile rear-vision camera systems as a springboard into the school bus safety market, first as a distributor for an analog VCR. And in 1999, with years of industry savvy and knowledge of customer preferences to guide us, we introduced our own VCR—the Observer®. A proven performer, the Observer continues to appeal to users who are comfortable with the features, performance, and price of analog systems. After several years of hands-on field and technical experience in mobile analog recording, we branched out into digital and began distributing on-bus mobile DVRs in 1997. We acquired leading MDVR maker Prima Facie in 2001; and in 2003, we unveiled our own RoadRecorder 6000® series. This MDVR features up to 10-camera capability to optimize onboard and exterior fields of view; patented encryption technology for superior forensic integrity and court-admissible evidence; and an inexpensive, upgradeable hard drive that is removable for playback of recorded video and audio data on a client’s notebook- or desktop-PC work-station. In 2005, we introduced a new digital offering, the RouteRecorder® 1000—a single-camera, dual-channel, entry-level digital system. Our lowest cost “analog to digital” upgrade option, the RouteRecorder is also a drop-in MDVR replacement for major brands of analog-based VCR systems.
Safety Vision has received recognition for our growth and development, ranking #289 in the Inc. 500 (one of the fastest-growing companies in the USA). We also are a four-time award recipient of the Houston 100, similar to the Inc. 500. We attribute our explosive growth to the fact that we are a customer-driven company—always looking to present new technologies and better service for our valued customers. |
