Police magazine features Safety Vision's digital in-car patrol video solution

Safety Vision was included in an article in Police magazine’s July 2009 issue focusing on the progress of mobile surveillance beginning with the time of analog systems, and describing the new features that mobile surveillance has as digital. As Police magazine depicts in this article, digital is the new frontier of mobile surveillance and encompasses high tech features that analog cannot compare to, such as wireless data transfer, capturing video on DVDs and using hard drives and flash memory cards for data storage. Analog mobile surveillance which involves manually removing data; capturing video on VHS tapes; and manually searching and extracting video clips is now a dated concept in the mobile surveillance world.

Safety Vision customer Lt. Kirk Jackson of the LaMarque Police Department has been using Safety Vision’s PatrolRecorder™ 4C mobile digital video system for two years, and contributed to the article. "We're planning to put it in two more cars next year if the council approves them," says Jackson. "I really like that I do not need to go out and manually remove the videos from the cars."

The Safety Vision PatrolRecorder™ 4C police in-car patrol video solution captures video from four cameras, has GPS mapping, speed tracking, and captures metadata for recorded events. The system saves files to a mobile-rated removable hard drive, can record and play back video simultaneously, and can download data wirelessly and stream live video.
