Safety Vision transit surveillance system provides evidence to capture a Boston criminal: as reported by Fox

Safety Vision’s RoadRecorder 6000 PRO® mobile digital video recorder (MDVR) captured video footage onboard a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) bus that enabled a crime from a teenage perpetrator to be used as evidence to capture and charge the teen. The evidentuary video showed a 16-year-old passenger stabbing a 47-year-old passenger repeatedly in the abdomen, left arm, and leg.

Safety Vision mass transit mobile surveillance camera systems are installed on 155 MBTA buses; each bus has a RoadRecorder 6000 PRO MDVR and eight Safety Vision mobile-rated digital cameras.

Safety Vision mobile video solutions help Groves Fire Department's arson investigations: as reported by CBS

The Groves Fire Department in Groves, Texas recently outfitted each of their fire trucks with Safety Vision mobile surveillance systems comprising of Safety Vision’s RouteRecorder® 4C mobile digital video recorder (MDVR), SV-LCD70B monitor, and three SV-620A rear-vision color cameras. As reported by Beaumont’s CBS affiiliated television station KFDM-TV, the Safety Vision mobile video systems are helping the fire department investigate a fire that occurred in a local shopping center on June 28.

Chief Dale Jackson with the Groves Fire Department says the Safety Vision mobile video solutions are helping the department with arson investigations; providing a wide view sight of the fire scene that the department didn’t have before the Safety Vision equipment; recording any accidents to and from the fire scene; and helping with training purposes for keeping the fire department and public safe.

The Grove Fire Department’s mobile surveillance system is supplemented with Safety Vision’s SafetyView® mobile video viewing software. SafetyView® is user-friendly software that features advanced search and export features to simplify fleet management. The software provides multiple viewing configurations of video feed from 10 cameras, mobile digital video recorder system health status, and GPS data.

Safety Vision police car camera captures runaway tire: as featured on ABC, CNN, and FOX News

Safety Vision law enforcement customer Sgt. Matthew Davidson of the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office barely escaped severe injury yesterday—when a 200-pound tire that was let loose from a semi truck nicked past him at 60 mph or so.

The incident was captured by Safety Vision’s PatrolRecorder 4C RHD police mobile digital video recorder (MDVR) system with removable hard drive. Sgt. Davidson pulled over while driving and came to the aid of motorist Daniel Barnett changing a flat tire on a narrow bridge shoulder as traffic rushed by.

As Sgt. Davidson and Barnett were in the midst of talking, Barnett looked up and spied the oncoming tire, just moments before the semi tire rolled onto the scene. In the nick of time, Barnett’s startled exclamation of warning prompted Sgt. Davidson to move out of harm’s way. The tire clipped the officer’s holster and bruised his leg as it whizzed along at a breakneck pace.

Police magazine features Safety Vision's digital in-car patrol video solution

Safety Vision was included in an article in Police magazine’s July 2009 issue focusing on the progress of mobile surveillance beginning with the time of analog systems, and describing the new features that mobile surveillance has as digital. As Police magazine depicts in this article, digital is the new frontier of mobile surveillance and encompasses high tech features that analog cannot compare to, such as wireless data transfer, capturing video on DVDs and using hard drives and flash memory cards for data storage. Analog mobile surveillance which involves manually removing data; capturing video on VHS tapes; and manually searching and extracting video clips is now a dated concept in the mobile surveillance world.

Safety Vision customer Lt. Kirk Jackson of the LaMarque Police Department has been using Safety Vision’s PatrolRecorder™ 4C mobile digital video system for two years, and contributed to the article. "We're planning to put it in two more cars next year if the council approves them," says Jackson. "I really like that I do not need to go out and manually remove the videos from the cars."

Today, Safety Vision was listed in tier 1 of the mobile surveillance world market share analyst briefing by Frost & Sullivan titled “Global Mobile Video Surveillance Moves into the Fast Lane: Opportunities for Recording and Transmission Solutions”.

The market segment of this analysis included cameras, recording, and transmission products; and aircraft, police cars, taxis, transit buses, school buses, trains and tram vehicles. Safety Vision’s tier 1 status was based on overall global revenue contribution to the mobile video system market.

Frost & Sullivan reported that mobile surveillance is an in-demand market for reasons including— mass transit terrorist threats; criminal behavior; passenger and driver security; fleet and agency liability; driver performance; and vehicle vandalism.

Wireless video transfer and fleet management solutions are onboard surveillance capabilities that are predicted to add growth to the mobile surveillance market. These features reduce man hours, simplify video management storage, search, extraction, and archival for fleets. Frost & Sullivan forecast that aircraft, law enforcement, and transit fleets will increase procurement of mobile surveillance more than any other industries until 2015.

CCJ features Safety Vision collision avoidance cameras

A June 2009 article in Commercial Carrier Journal magazine focuses on improving driver safety with collision warning systems. Featured solutions include Safety Vision's rear-, side-, and forward-view camera and in-cab monitor systems. Spotlighted are the SV-CLCD-70 liquid crystal display monitor, which supports four cameras with switchable camera views, and the SV-622 side-view color camera with built-in microphone.

According to CCJ, collision warning systems improve performance and safety by offering a driver immediate feedback about driving conditions and hazards.
